Horizon Donates 7,500 to Valparaiso's Hilltop Food Pantry

Michigan City, IN – Horizon Bank awarded Hilltop Food Pantry a donation in the amount of $7,500 to support its mission of providing resources, support, and advocacy for food insecure individuals residing in Valparaiso, Indiana.

The donation was presented to Hilltop Food Pantry President and CEO Jennifer Wright on May 14, 2021.

“Feeding our neighbors is one of the most important things we can do and Hilltop provides food and resources for more than 600 individuals each month,” said Wright. “Every donation makes a difference, and we are grateful for the support provided by Horizon Bank because it allows us to continue providing quality food to help the members of our community succeed.”

The Hilltop Food Pantry is part of Hilltop Neighborhood House, a nonprofit organization that offers childcare, meal programs for children, and other community resources for families. The pantry is located at 606 Union, Valparaiso, IN 46383 and is open on Thursdays each week from 9 AM to 11:30 AM. Volunteers from area churches and Valparaiso University Work Study students make up the staff and accept donations on Thursdays between 8:30 AM and noon.
