Horizon Donates to Brothers’ Keeper Shelter
Michigan City, Indiana — Horizon Bank awarded Brothers’ Keeper a donation in the amount of $2,500 to help support their homeless shelter for men in Gary, Indiana.
This donation was presented to Isaac Mootye, Executive Director at Horizon’s Ribbon Cutting at Horizon’s new office in Gary.
“We thank Horizon Bank for their generosity, as they have demonstrated deep commitment to our ministry of providing shelter for the homeless, feeding the hungry and providing a safe haven for those in need. We are greatly inspired by the dedication and generosity of organizations like yours who answer the call to give,” stated Mootye.
“Brothers’ Keeper is run by a group of unique and dedicated individuals who truly care about this shelter. They are providing important services to the Gary community, making sure men have not only adequate shelter, but are being taught to take care of themselves and live productive lives,” stated Telethia Barrett, Community Lender at Horizon.
About Brothers’ Keeper Homeless Shelter
Brothers' Keeper is a shelter for homeless men that provides outreach to indigent individuals from Gary and the surrounding communities. It’s a non-partisan, and non-denominational faith based organization and was founded by the late Rev. James A. Anderson. Many of their clients are referred to the facility by hospitals, local law enforcement agencies, governmental agencies and family and friends.
