Horizon Bank Slicer Branch Scholarship Awarded to Rebekah Novak
Horizon Bank is pleased to announce that the 2021 Horizon Bank Slicer Branch Scholarship has been awarded to Rebekah Novak. A check in the amount of $1,000 was presented at the Senior Academic Awards Program held at the LaPorte High School Auditorium
on April 26th.
Rebekah volunteers her time to a number of community service activities and is involved in 4-H E-Z Riders Club, the LPHS Equestrian team, her church youth Missional Group and is a National Honors Society member.
She wrote a thoughtful five hundred-word essay on the topic “Community Service Matters Because…” She eloquently expressed the importance of community service and that it not only benefits the recipient but teaches the volunteer lifelong
lessons such as selflessness, hard work and gratefulness.
Rebekah plans to attend Taylor University in the fall where she will major in Environmental Science and participate on the Equestrian Team. Her ultimate goal is to become a Wildlife Biologist.
