Horizon Bank Awards Donation to Dunebrook Inc.
Horizon Bank announces donation to Dunebrook Inc., in Michigan City Indiana. The donation, in the amount of $5,000, will be used towards child abuse prevention education in LaPorte and Porter County Indiana.
Dunebrook’s programs strengthen their capacity to reduce the occurrence of child sexual abuse in children and adolescents. The objectives of the programs are to educate children to build self-protection knowledge and skills and to help them avoid
unsafe situations as well as empower them to report incidences of sexual abuse. Programs also play a key part in educating adults in how to prevent, identify and respond responsibly to suspicions of child sexual abuse. Last year, Dunebrook presented
to nearly 40,000 students in 55 schools across LaPorte, Porter and Starke Counties.
“April is Child Abuse Prevention Awareness month and we are taking this time to educate the community on child abuse prevention. We are so
very thankful to Horizon Bank for this Grant for Dunebrook’s Public Education program. Collectively, the funds allow us to present this education in LaPorte and Porter Counties. The presentations are arranged in collaboration with schools
and meet the State’s requirements for schools to provide this critical safety education annually to students in grades K-12. The Body Safety programs have been presented via a mix of in-person, online and hybrid methods. Thank you Horizon Bank
