Horizon Bank Donates 50,000 to Local Food Pantries
MICHIGAN CITY, IN. — Horizon Bank is pleased to provide another generous donation during the pandemic to support the work of the many food pantries in Laporte, Porter and Lake County Indiana.
These donations were awarded to Salvation Armies in all three counties, The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, Sacred Heart Food Pantry and The Pax Center in Laporte County. Donations totaled $50,000 and will help to keep serving the increasing needs in Northwest Indiana.
Investing in the well being of their communities continues to be a priority at Horizon during this pandemic. Food pantries have played a vital role in providing struggling families with much needed food during these pressing times and Horizon knew they had to help out.
“The food banks in Northwest Indiana do great things under normal conditions, but due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, their needs have increased. Not only are they providing food for their own organizations, but they are helping many other food pantries in the region. The need is increasing daily and definitely still there,” stated Steve Kring, Regional President for Northwest Indiana.
