Horizon Bank Awards Donation to Dunebrook Inc.
Horizon Bank announces donation to Dunebrook Inc., in Michigan City Indiana. The donation, in the amount of $5,000, was presented by Jim Neff, President of Horizon to Jeanne Ann Cannon, Executive Director of Dunebrook, Inc., on January 22, 2019. Funds will be used towards child abuse prevention education in LaPorte and Porter County Indiana.
Using the curricula of Body Safety, Smarter, Safer Teens, and Stewards of Children, Dunebrook is helping to bring a solution to one of society's most pressing problems. Smarter, Safer Teens is a program Dunebrook launched in the 2018-2019 school
year that will target middle/intermediate school children in grades 6 through 8. The program is presented in six sessions and includes topics in self-esteem, personal power, online safety, acceptance and boundaries. Stewards of Children
teach adults a real-world approach to actions they may take to prevent abuse and to intervene if abuse is suspected.
