Horizon Bank Donates to Sacred Heart Church Food Pantry
LAPORTE, IN. — In response to the Coronavirus pandemic, Sacred Heart Church in LaPorte, Indiana is pleased to report that they recently received a generous Grant donation from Horizon Bank to support the work of their parish food pantry.
“The grant in the amount of $2,500.00 was awarded on April 5, 2020 and will help serve the needs of the greater LaPorte Community. We are so thankful for Horizon’s support in this great time of need,” stated Deacon Frank J. Zolvinski.
"Investing in the well being of our communities is a priority, and we know the Sacred Heart Church will provide struggling families with much needed food during these difficult times," stated Steve Kring, Regional President of Northwest Indiana.
The pantry serves over 1170 families a year and operates every Tuesday afternoon from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. for the past 15 years.
Food donations may be put in a box in the entrance area of Sacred Heart Office (on Niesen St.) on Tuesday & Thursdays from 9:00 a.m.-Noon. The food donations will be divided between our two food pantries to help our La Porte Community.
