Joe Walter Takes on Expanded Role as Vice President, Agricultural Lending Group Manager
Michigan City, Indiana – Dennis Kuhn, Executive Vice President, Chief Commercial Banking Officer, is pleased to announce the promotion of Joe Walter to Vice President, Agricultural Lending Group Manager. He was previously a Senior Agricultural Lending Officer. The move is part of an established succession plan following the upcoming retirement of Larry Kummer on July 31, 2020.
Kummer began his agricultural banking career in 1979. Throughout his career, Kummer delivered superior agricultural lending solutions and advice, winning many accolades along the way from the agricultural industry and the communities he served.
Walter has over 30 years of experience and has been active in the agricultural industry and in the community as well. He graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Agricultural Economics. He has extensive experience in family agribusiness and provides sound advice to his many clients. Working from his primary Horizon office in Howe, Indiana, Walter oversees the lending group across the bank’s market areas.
Walter’s team includes Eric Aschleman, who has also been promoted to Vice President, Agricultural Lending Officer. He has been in the Ag industry since 2004 as both a lender and an auditor for the US Dept. of Agriculture. He has extensive experience with lines of credit, equipment loans and farm land loans.
