Horizon Bank Donates to Midland Area Community Foundation for Flood Relief
Michigan City, IN — Horizon Bank announces a donation in the amount of $25,000 to The Flood Relief Project Fund to assist with the flood relief and recovery efforts due to the extreme flooding in Midland and surrounding communities.
Midland Area Community Foundation established the #ReliefMidland Flood Relief Project Fund to provide flood relief to all populations in Midland County, including Sanford, Bullock Creek, and the City of Midland. The fund was initially established with a $250,000 contribution from the Midland Area Community Foundation and an additional $250,000 in matching funds.
The mission of The Flood Relief Project Fund is to provide disaster relief in Midland County with use determined by the Midland County long-term recovery group in consultation with the Midland County Emergency Manager. They are considering immediate needs including places for showers, washing clothes and food distribution as well as intermediate and long-term necessities.
“The widespread damage and pure devastation caused by extensive rain and dam failure is just unthinkable and we knew we had to provide financial assistance. Seeing the entire community come together to help those in need makes me proud to call this area home to my family.
