Life Centers Receives Donation from Horizon Bank

Indianapolis, IN: Due to the CDC’s and State Department of Health’s recommendations concerning COVID-19, Life Centers temporarily closed all seven pregnancy resource centers until further notice. While this is unfortunate, our staff members, volunteers, and clients’ safety and health is top priority. We do not make this decision lightly. We want to follow government guidelines, and believe that the best way to show love to our community is to help reduce the spread of this deadly virus by limiting face to face contact.

“We knew it was imperative to give to Life Centers during this great time of need so they could continue to provide counseling and supply essentials to the local community. Horizon Bank hopes that other area businesses reach out and donate what they can to help their mission now as well as after the pandemic,” stated Susan Hargrove, Commercial Loan Officer.

Our Plan While our centers are temporarily closed, our staff will remain working. Our center directors are taking client calls daily to counsel women over the phone. All of our center phone lines have been forwarded to a center director. In addition to counseling over the phone, we are meeting the material needs of our clients weekly. Clients are being scheduled to come by our Downtown Center to get diapers, wipes, or formula for their babies and children. We will continue to see clients each Tuesday until our centers re-open.

Receiving the Grant We are very grateful to Horizon Bank and their allocation of $1,000 to our ministry to support relief efforts due to COVID-19. While our centers are closed, we still have to pay rent on all seven of our pregnancy resource centers. The money will cover one month’s rent for one of our centers. This helps take some of the financial burden off of our ministry while we focus on fulfilling our mission to serve others, even during these unprecedented times. Those who depend on us most cannot wait for things to go “back to normal;” they need us now.
