Horizon Bank to Honor Veterans Day 2015

Michigan City, IN — Horizon Bank announced it will be closed on November 11, 2015, in honor of Veterans Day.

Craig Dwight, Horizon's Chairman and CEO said, "The bank has a long tradition of honoring our local veterans, and we wanted to continue this by giving our advisors the opportunity to participate in commemorative events. This is one way we can pay tribute to the many men and women who have given — and are giving — so much in service to our country."

In lieu of a Veterans Day breakfast this year, Horizon will be contributing to the local Vans for Vets Organization that provides LaPorte County Veterans free transportation to doctor appointments at the Veteran Affair facility in Crown Point. The Vans for Vets program is conducted out of the Disabled Americans Veterans Organization and receives local funds as well as donations from all LaPorte County VFW’s and American Legions.

In addition, since the bank is closed on this day, several of our employees will be engaged in honoring veterans throughout the communities we serve.  We would also like to thank Larry Fegaras and Rodinis Restaurant who generously took their time to cook and provide for past Veterans Day breakfasts.
