Our community impact and support.

Being involved and giving back is more than just the right thing to do. It’s the best way we know to understand the needs of both our customers and community members. So it’s only natural that we would encourage our Advisors to seek local volunteer opportunities. Inspiring them to get involved in their individual passions and take on leadership positions in the community simply dovetails with our approach to customer service.

Craig M. Dwight Named One of IBJ Media’s Most Influential People

Michigan City, Indiana, August, 2022 — IBJ Media has named Craig M. Dwight, Chairman and CEO of Horizon Bank to its inaugural Indiana 250, a list of the most influential and impactful business and community leaders in Indiana. Dwight was included in the Financial and Business Services category for his work and commitment to Horizon Bank and his community. Craig Dwight has served as CEO of Horizon Bank for 24 years. He is responsible for strategy, setting the pace, allocations of capital and resources, and the tone at the top of the organization as it relates to ethics, values, transparency and community service.

Executives and leaders at IBJ Media and its three news brands — Indianapolis Business Journal, Inside INdiana Business and Indiana Lawyer – compiled the list during a months-long process that included reviewing nominations, researching Indiana organizations and interviewing community leaders across the state.

“It is an honor to be recognized as one of IBJ Media’s most influential business and community leaders in Indiana. Making a positive difference in the financial well-being of the communities we serve has been a key priority at Horizon Bank and I am proud how our team rises to the occasion each day, to serve our expanding and diverse communities,” said Dwight.

The names were released July 21 at Indiana250.com and in a magazine highlighting profiles of the honorees. Dwight was profiled on page 55B.

“The leaders included on the Indiana 250 have made significant contributions in their communities, across their regions and to the state,” said IBJ Media CEO Nate Feltman.

“But the Indiana 250 is more than a directory or an honor roll,” Feltman said. “It’s a way to help Hoosiers in one part of the state learn about leaders and organizations in other areas of the state. We hope the Indiana 250 will create a bond between influential Hoosiers and help them work together toward a stronger Indiana.”

As a community-minded, hardworking, and focused leader, Dwight transformed Horizon from a small community bank of eight locations into a $7.4 billion asset bank with over seventy-five locations. Recently, he has been focused on organizing a community development corporation and extending the company‘s geographic footprint in Indiana and Michigan.

Dwight and others in the inaugural Indiana 250 list were celebrated at a reception featuring Gov. Eric Holcomb on July 21 on the 47th floor of the Salesforce Tower in downtown Indianapolis.

Feltman said IBJ Media plans to release the Indiana 250 list annually. The publication is part of the company’s larger effort to help foster statewide economic vitality and collaboration through its publications and events, including an Engage Indiana series of programs it is co-hosting with the Indiana Economic Development Corp. in cities throughout Indiana.
